So....the time has come!
We are actually going to have our first showing.
7-10pm, in the Conference Room in the ARC (upstairs in the union).
Meet on UNION steps at 6.50pm if you're not sure where you're going.
We will be watching various fansubbed/subbed shows and then voting on which we want to watch as long running series.
I have four in mind to watch for the year (though if people don't like them then we will watch other things), then there will be 2 slots each week for people to bring new stuff.

Of course! You'll just need to sign him in. I'm bringing my sister so if they tell we can't come in then you'll have to go President-less!

When wasn't it free entry?
I missed Howl's Moving Castle last week just due to being a dope and not checking the time, but hopefully I'll see you guys this Thursday.

Also is it free entry now we have membership cards? The union entrance policy (if it hasn't changed) is: Members enter for free, on production of an nus card or society membership card, after 6pm Non-members have to be signed in (for free) after 6pm, limit of 2 per member. On sundays, sign-ins cost 50p each, or a pound, I forget.

Yep, of course it's free. You only ever have to pay if we're doing an outing sort of event.
Series I'm thinking of are FMA, Fruits Basket, Azumanga Daioh, and Scrapped Princess
It's got to be different genres so there's something for everyone-
FMA - bit of actiony type stuff Fruits Basket - gentle, enjoyable sometimes comedy Azumanga - comedy Scrapped Princess - fantasy, action, comedy occasionally
But it all depends on what people think on the night. If need be we'll have two "sampling sessions" before starting on the long runners.

I havent seen any of the others either, so im all up for it ;D As for the sampling sessions, that would be an awesome idea... You could create a 'Polling Station', Votes placed for which Anime should be shown in these Sessions... If you need any of the FMA episodes too, let me know as i have the whole lot here ;D

As for the sampling sessions, that would be an awesome idea... You could create a 'Polling Station', Votes placed for which Anime should be shown in these Sessions... I think I'll be using a new high-tech method that has been recently reported to have excellent feedback, this method is known as the "Hands-up" approach. I fear people may find it hard to understand the methodology behind it, but I will persevere for the sake of mankind!

After all that panicking and a really snarky email to the ARC, I discovered that my laptop does, in fact, have a pin socket bit too - it's just all nicely covered up with a little flap. *strokes her Vaio*

You're taking a week off for your birthday? that's so cool and irresponsible! Good luck with the UCL animesoc. Well, my reading week is next week, so I'll only be missing a morning seminar on friday. So I'm not as cool as you think, or I'd like yo to believe. Sorry to abandon the aisle cru in your hour of need, Ash.

Hey guys. I was wondering, are there any fans of Indie rock and 2-4-1 cocktails out there? On thursday night its Indie Rox nite at Halo. It is really good, and i thought if people wanted to we could go for a drink then head on down to Halo after Anime soc.
Just a thought ^.^

FMA - bit of actiony type stuff Fruits Basket - gentle, enjoyable sometimes comedy Azumanga - comedy Scrapped Princess - fantasy, action, comedy occasionally I approve of this lineup. And we all know how much my opinion matters. But I think this is a good mixture of shonen, shojo and comedy. If anything had to be dropped, I would probably say Scrapped Princess, as FMA fulfills a similar purpose, and the early episodes are very good as standalones.

hey hey- you underestimate the numbers in ninja crew jamie- aisle cre is pretty much dead at the mo! but ninja cre are booming!! plus le ninjas dnt need numbers damnit- one of us could slaughter all of pirate crew- stealth and crazyness- mwhahahaha! And its alrite Giles i forgive ya- i just hpe jenny drags her self down to animesoc- or there shall be consequences- mwhahaahahahah! i dunno some ppl, no commitment! 2 weeks of not coming would be unforgivable- or not. hey glen- indie does indeed rock- but i'm not convince by halo having an indie nite- i usually not 2 keen on the place- plus its just wrong!! they still have the plaque of sanctity up on the dance floor! But all that aside, i would 2 have loved 2 have come, but unfortunatley i am very very busy- lots of work and 9 am lecture on friday! obviously animesoc takes priority tho! oh yay phoebe is coming, i finally get to meet my alter ego!!! woop! hey wait a minute, how can we be in the same room at the same time?! hmmm...must be a supspace anomaly which lends physical matter to both psyches!! or maybe one of us is from a paralllel universe or another time! hmmm....ah well, yay! cya guys thursday

Looks like the showing may coincide with an otley run which I apparently agreed to do ages ago, which is a shame, but let me know what you guys watched and I'll try to get them on the DL. If you guys are going into town afterwards I'll be that drunken idiot you walk in the road to try and avoid as you overtake him.

But I'm sure I could lend you the stuff we watch, as long as you give it back in time for the next week
