hmmm, bored games ach, monopoly is evil, it is actually the quintessence of evil, I mean, what the best way to promote capitalism...mmm, lets make it into a fun bored game that sets family member against family member for money but the pub quizz idea is awsome ...I've never done a proper 1 evil as in Adam robbing the Monopoly bank and buying the whole board!? How about a LAN gaming event? A few FPS and a few strategy games like Age Of Empires etc!?

I could carry my miserable little pile of PC, but I'd have to face the ridicule of not being able to run anything more demanding than UT2003. We could always system link a few Xboxs together, it'd be easier to cart those around.

well as for the lan gaming thing how about going to a cybercafe designed for it or a LAN centre there must be some in leeds somwhere with those facilities if not i know there is one in huddersfield that gamedevsoc organised a trip too, it would all depend on cost and stuff i guess though, and if the society had any money spare to spend on that kinda thin
also i am really up for a board game night, and we can do silly paper games too like pictionary and stuff(like at anime xmas party) monoply is either GREAT or HORRIBLE it is never just "ok" and you know pretty soon after starting which way its going i have all sorts of wacky games like one where you have to flip flies into a rotating frogs head, and anther where you hace to steal gold from a mini treaure island with moving parts n a shark, but i have no idea how i would get them to leeds unless some kind person with a car offered to come get me and all of them....(ed? ;D)

lan gaming would be cool, but i think it would take to much effort to sort out, and ive got a feeling some of us may bget a bit toooo competitive !! hehe..chillax anna, its only a board game !! im definitely up for some risk tho!! world domination styleee- sounds uberly appropriate!! ohh and pubquizage would be awsome!! but none of that cheating txting pirate malarky!!! its just morally wrong- not naming ne1,...jamie. Pictionary would be awsome!! team pictionary, or even better charades!!! hehehe- awsome, this sounds like its gonna be a good term

a random talk between me and chris regarding how a certain picture looks like a golf cart, lead me to the idea of... Ninja v. Pirate (or squid vs octopus?) MINIGOLF are there any minigolfs AKA CRAZZZZYYYY GOLFFFFF in leeds area, or maybe it could be encorparated into part of our day at blackpool(im sure there is one there)

Hey Guys, since im the new social sec and all, i thought id post a few ideas up here and what you think of them!!! a few of these have been mentioned before, but im gonna re-iterate em coz i quite like em, and would like them 2 happen, if you guys like em of course! coz theyre wicked cool!!!
right... Games nite (non electronic)- monoply, risk, cluedo, hungry hungry hippos, twister, pictionary, russian roulette, etc!
5-a-side footy- a weekly/biweekly thing for anyone who wants to play at the sports centre? perhaps have a team (just for fun, not overly serious) and enter in2 the one of the avrious uni footy tournaments!
Picnic!! the weathers picking up now!! time to go outside!! frisbees, footballs, lots of yummy food, and good company is all we need (maybe a lil sun too), this could alternatively be a BBQ
Go-karting!! we had a taster at blackpool, now we can do the whole shabang, with proper cars and a proper track!! theres a good one in wakey, and ed's mentioned one in leeds 2!!
Sleepover!! Possible extension of the games night..kinda nicked this one from the liverpool animesoc, theyve got photos and it loks really rwally fun- have every1 locked in2 a uni building for the night with sleeping bags! and we can have sweets and movies and ghost stories and generally chaotic fun!
FF7 Cosplay social/outage!! theres a lot of ff7 fans in the soc from what ive heard! and i reckon itd make a good cosplay theme! dsnt need to be an otley run, just in japanic or some other random pub!
Paintballing!! we did quasar! which we might fdo again this year (probably in a different place though) but next level...paintballing!! would be awsome fun!! nothing like brusing the hell out of your friends!!
and the biggy...Cross-soc events!! this could either be having social events with other luu socs like japsoc/filmsoc, etc. but also with other animesocs!! we could down to liverpool or manchester for a couple of nights, or they could come here!! medsoc did something like that last year, and it was awsome and absolute madness!! i think itd be great fun!!

Yes! X Over events with other Anime Societies is something which I wanted to get going, so if you need any help with that let me know. All the other things sound awesome too! Especially the sleep over and the pic-nic. Keep the good stuff up Ash!

Rate: * Picnic * GO-KARTING 4TW * Sleepover (though I have concerns about sleeping in the same room as Ash ) Slate: * Football (seriously Ash, what are you thinking? Marisa's spot on about this) * FF7 (not so much "slate" as "not my thing, you lot enjoy though") Meh: * Paintballing * Cross-soc events

ideas are ideas..no need 2 slate them....ed Merely pointing out that for a society full of geeks and nerds, suggesting a sporting activity is likely to go down like a lead balloon the liverpoool lot seem quite intrested in paintballing actually!! I'll paint your balls in a... hang on, no, no I won't

I'll paint your balls in a... hang on, no, no I won't i think thats the point ed!! we're not a society full of nerds and geeks!! i dnt mind being called a geek, but im sure some ppl wouldnt like that label!! and certainly, we need to get away from stereotypes!! geeks aren't what they're used 2 be!! geek chic is the new cool, and they do water polo

I think next year we should have another otley run! but this time, a few more of us should make a bit more effort (I'm not refering to myself or anything ) It would be good if it was in the first half of semester 1, it'd be like a introductory otley run for the new ppl !!! ;D
