I'm guessing that there are quite a few Studio Ghibli fans out there; there must be, right?? May I then suggest a Studio Ghibli Marathon? This is mine and Steven's collection: Grave of the Fireflies Laputa: Castle in the Sky My Neighbour Totoro ;D Kiki's Delivery Service Porco Rosso Princess Mononoke Spirited Away On Your Mark - this is the music video Nausicaa: Of the Valley of the Wind Only Yesterday Ocean Waves Pom Poko Whisper of the Heart The Cat Returns Anyone interested in seeing them sometime? We probably won't have time for all, but I'm sure we can leave some out, like the ones everyone's seen already.

We could definitely add this to our ideas collection. We'd planned on doing some marathons, so this may be ideal as a topic.

I'm up so for that.
Where would these marathons be held exactly? If it's going to be in a private residence may i suggest mine? We could use my 25"wide flat telly, big floorstanding speakers and subwoofer the size of my head. Only problem is i live ohhh 40 mins walk from uni. I could actually bring this stuff anywhere it's required but i'll need access to a car.

Well, I was going to suggest the union rooms, but it's godawfully uncomfortable. However, they are a more appropriate size and could be improved by people bringing cushions and bean bags (I've got quite a few could bring).
Something to think about though!
I know the Lounge has much more comfy seats

Hehe, I haven't seen Spirited Away either. =p In fact I've seen very little Ghibli... only Kiki's Delivery Service and Howl's Moving Castle. So yeah, I think it sounds like a good idea ;D

I can't believe so many of you haven't seen spirited away - it's just not right!! Ahhhhh *head explodes*. If access could be secured for the lounge that would be absolutely awesome.. And we need lots of snacks - chocolate, popcorn, you name it.. I suppose we could use the house - just it would depend how many people would be coming, perhaps if you took like a vote of people at the society meeting of how many people would definately come and how many maybes... Then go from there for orginizing..?

I'm amazed at the spirited away situ too... i swear it was like compulsary viewing.. although, since i saw it in dubs first at the cinema, i actually prefer the dub version to the japanese subs.. which is... odd... 0_o yeah i say take a vote. then we can arrange a date that suits mostly everyone. if everyone who comes brings a cushion or chair or beanbag or food then we'd probably end up with enough comfy seating and eats. though more organising may have to go into that... i'd bring my beanbag, but it's 200 miles away, back in london.
