Good evening
Just to inform you guys, some of the funding has been spent to provide lendable resources for the society. The stuff that has been bought so far is:
Manga: GTO (Great teacher onizuka)- Book 1 Negima - Book 1 (imagine Harry Potter crossed with Love Hina) Naruto- Book 1 Fruits Basket- Book 1 Ranma 1/2- Book 1 Escaflowne- Book 1 Love Hina- Book 1 (Imagine Negima but with no magic) Bleach- Book 1
Instruction Books: How to Draw Manga- Getting Started How to Draw Anime and Game Characters- Vol 2: Expressing Emotions How to Draw Manga- (Special Edition) Giant Robots
All manga was bought at cyber city and all instruction books were bought at travelling man.
Watch this space for more society resources and please only post here if you have something genuinly constructive to say, not like "i like <insert title>" or "can i borrow <insert title>".
Cheers guys

Massive thanks to Tony and Claire for doing all that shopping (though honestly shopping for anime, not that much of a hardship!) This is just the beginning, we've still got another £200 or so to spend. There will be a separate thread for if you wish to borrow any of these, in the Borrowing forum. We will try bringing these to the next meeting, so that if you don't like/have seen one of the animes, you can sit and read and thus avoid pissing people off with your chattering If you have any suggestions about stuff to buy, you can still post in the original "What to spend our funding on " thread.

I think I may have seen you two passing Halo around 4.15 today! Does one of the shoppers have pink hair? I saw a guy carrying a travelling man bag and though 'ace'... so it's stuck in my memory.

That sounds like them. But... you bought the Escaflowne manga? I am ashamed that this has entered the official manga collection. Now I realise that I must never leave the country again, to avoid this sort of catastrophe.
Everything else: Fantastic. Top quality stuff. (Except maybe Love Hina)

Yep, that's them! A Fairly distinctive pair ;D
Anyway, we were just going for beginning. There's a lot of society members who like Escaflowne, so it's not suprising that that has been bought. We are just aiming to get lots of beginnings of different series for people to try, if they enjoy them then they can hunt down further volumes.

Ok guys, I just spent the last bit of last terms funding (had to be done by Friday so we could apply for more!)
I went for DVDs rather than manga, as we had manga last time and I'l like to make a nice little library so people can borrow things and take them home to watch.
So...I've ordered a mixture of films and series:
Grave of the Fireflies Metropolis Noir Vol 1 Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust Full Metal Alchemist Vol 1 Chrno Crusada Vol 1 Samurai X : The movie
This is going off the suggestions people have made in previous threads. I know they're more on the serious side, but I think we have plenty of the silly stuff too, so that's that.
