I'm posting this in here as well as Social Events and Offtopic to make sure it gets seen. Right! We're having a Christmas Party (shock!). On Thursday 8th we'll be finishing the showing at 9pm and heading down to Japanic where they are going to lay on a delicious feast for us. Then we are going to generally have a night of sillyness and party games, including (if we can get it sorted and CCA are looking into it for us) a pass-the-parcel with anime and manga goodies inside! If that's not incentive enough I don't know what is! Now, the party will be open to every one, but if you want to eat it will be £8 a head (this is normally a £12 a head menu so we are subsidising for you here!). We've been promised plentiful tastyness so it's well worth it to fill your bellies! I'll be bringing along tickets on this Thursday 1st, so please bring your cash then. If you can't make the meeting, I will be in the ARC societies room (head towards the Conference room but it's the first door on your left once you're in that long corridor from 12-2pm on Friday. If those times are no good for you, email me at animesoc@gmail.com and we'll sort out a time to meet up to collect them (if enough people complain, I might make myself available at another time). Make sure you bring your Animesoc card (we're not going to pay out of our coffers for non-members to eat!). Hopefully it'll be a really good night, and everyone will come along and make merry! (And say a fond farewell to me as I'll be buggering off home for a month the next day ) Any questions or queries, post them here!

I'm allergic to fish as well...and there are a couple of veggies in the society, so could you make sure there is enough variety for us *fussy* eaters, if that's ok? If not, I'm perfectly happy to come along and just not eat.
Sorry to be a pain when I know we discussed not complaining and saying "I don't eat food!"

No excuse there Sam, drive to Japanic and back again Food wise I would imagine there will be fish, but obviously a bit of everything. (Though I'm sure we can find out asap what it will be roughly). There will definitey be vegetarian options, I made sure to check about that. Obviously I'll need to get an idea of how many veggies so that we can get the right proportion of dishes. And if you're a true fussy eater like me, you're totally fucked and you're best off coming but not eating...but I think I'll be in the very tiny minority there.

There will be food for vegitarians and also there will be food without fish so dont worry.
They often serve a lot of noodle and rice dishes, as well as a lot of skewers and sushi type things. There will be something for everyone and i believe it is a kind of pick and choose what you want type meal rather than a "this is a set meal so eat it you bastard!" meal.
Its gunna rock

Now, is it sushi-type things, or is there gonna be honest to goodness Sushi/sashimi there? Are we gonna be going buffet style with a lot of platters, or are we each going to order individually?

Buffet style with lots of platters, would be a nightmare to do it any other way.

The only way we can do that is if you tell me she is definitely definitely coming and then I trust that she'll pay me there. It's because we have to tell the guys today about numbers, so let me know here asap or send me a text.

Question... Dress code, are people going to go really casual as perhaps they would to anime soc? Or go smartish casual to anime soc then from there??... Or is it just totally up to the individual? ....

No dress code, but I think I'll wear a nice (new) top, that I will probably boil to death in, and jeans. And of course some spangly, dangly christmas coloured earrings.
People - don't forget to bring your Secret Santa stuff!
