Love is in the Air... Ed's Monthly Playboy Arrived Early... Phoebe has a new Man... Ash has a cute butt... and so on... I was wondering if anyone has any little plans for the week... Im not one to really celebrate ValDay, i wont go into it too much but i feel that its yet another day for the card companies to cash in and the weak minded... however i had a few ideas for the ones that wanna... and ill tag alogn of course On the 16th (thats two days after the actual day) Thursday at the meeting, i was thinking of bringing in a Shoebox with a hole in the top... Similar to Secret Santa, we can post cards/letters to our Valentines within the Soc (For Fun or For Real!? Who knows!) and then it can remain totally annonomous (However you spell it) if neccessary with one person delivering the cards at the end of the meeting or in Japanic... (This isnt some lame attempt of mine to actually recieve a card this year i swear I jsut thought it could be a good little bit of fun and so on...) Oh and ill have to wear my Pink Tux for that showing for sure! Maybe some lovey duvey aniem could be an idea... Im guessing 'Love Hina' would be one right? Another thing, as lame as it sounds, i used to take my old Girlfriends Ice Skating on Valentines Day however, considering the turn out to the last ice skating trip (according to Lizzie who now has her own pair of Skates!!!) It might be an idea to arrange an Ice Skating trip for this week....? I wont be doing my famous Ice Skating backflip though! Any other ideas that dont involve expensive Italian meals and my cash level being bombed!? (The joy of being single!) ;D

hehehe...why thank you adam, it still doesn't mean you're getting any though - as for valentine-themed events, I'm not sure it's a good idea!! i know a few ppl (including me) who quite dislike the holiday, and don't really like being reminded of their singledom!! though I guess it depends on the response, despite my dislike of it, I'd be game 2 do something fun- I always am. *lizzie*Edited by me to make this readable. Punctuaction and spelling are fun and useful! *edit* hehe- i wondered when my lack of proper english would start to grate on you lizzie!! i'm suprised you lasted this long!

I'm behind your sad emoticon 100% Marisa! I've only ever received one valentine's card in my whole life, from the girl I was going out with last year. that was the one valentine's day I haven't spent shut grumpily in my room, and due to a massive cock-up I spent most of that in a freezing bus shelter, and the day ended up with her dumping me.
So basically...I HATE VALENTINE'S DAY! No shoe boxes, lovey dovey anime or ice skating, or I swear to God I'll turn emo on all of you!!

almost as bad as me last year, but you got it worse i spent ages looking for a perfect v card for my bf of the time and looking for a present only for him to reaveal last minute he doesnt celebrate vday at all and thinks anyone who thinks ic an be at all romantic is delusional cut to me ripping up the card throwing it at the wall, i don't remmber what happened with the present though.. *mental blank on the sad day* didnt get to see the guy till the weekend after where we had a screaming match that led onto me telling him i ripped his card up and him laughing at me calling me pathetic yay! relationships! gimmie a break only vcard ive got in my life was 1yr before that from an ex who i think basically felt sorry for me becoz i was housebound on a thousand painkillers with a hand which seemd like it wud be paralysed for life and was in agony with a smashed to pieces arm, so i got a big tigger card and roses and teddies and ungrateful me just felt smothered and wanted to be independant! *shakes head*

Hah! Fortunately Valentine's Day is my sister's birthday, so it's never been "Valentine's Day" in our house. So I'm not all jaded and bitter like the rest of you Anyway, said sister will be coming up to visit from Tues-Fri, so I'll not be able to attend any "loveydovey" animesoc events. What a shame Though I presidential veto the romantic anime idea (argh!), I would like to modify the "love letters box" plan. How about people write non-specific ones and then you can grab one out....I think it could be amusing. (But perhaps because I have some evil and possibly revolting ideas formulating as to what I could write!)

I plan to spend valentines in traditional fashion, that is to say sitting in a corner drinking whilst mumbling loudly and shouting abuse at happy couples, yay for valentines day ;D Oh and I hereby forbid any sort of lovey dovey anime, no no and thrice no!!!!

Thrice no indeed!
I can't wait to see the hotbed of sexual tension that is animesoc move up a notch for the Valentines celebration.

the fair sounds good, when is it? im hoping for more dogems! now why didn't that occur to me? Suddenly the idea of going actually seems cool, as I HAVE CAUGHT THE DODGEM FEVER! I may have to spend my student loan on actually buying one, to get to uni every morning in style! translation: yeah, the fair sounds like fun. PS will any of you ninjas be doing the whole "all because the lady loves cadbury's milk tray" routine? For some reason the noisy rum-soaked pirate equivalent doesn't have a terribly high success rate PPS sorry for lowering the tone to nvp

The fair sounds great to me! I think this thread needs more love *love and pink fluffy things to all* I'm up for any gooey anime as well. Being single is better for your moneys. Presents are so expensive these days!

I was going to stay out of this one, but I'm frankly amazed that no-one has brought up making chocolates yet. What kind of anime fans are you?
Also, you want a decent romantic anime? That's not stupidly gooey or just crap? Try Voices of a Distant Star.

What kind of anime fans are you? Errr... >_> Anyway, making chocolates sounds like fun, but how do you actually do that? :-\ I don't think I've ever had 'homemade chocolate'...

I don't make chocolate but I do make the world's most delicious (and calorific) chocolate moussey hobnob base pudding.
I am quite tempted to make it for you guys, but it's best with ice creama nd you need bowls so it would be a bit of an endeavour.
Also a) not very valentiney, b) I might not be coming that week.
